Our Mission...
The Harvard University Club was formed in 1977, is the umbrella organization for over 2600 Harvard alumni living in the greater Houston area, and is open to graduates of Harvard College and Harvard's graduate and professional schools, as well as any person who has received an honorary degree from Harvard or Radcliffe and any other person connected with a department, school or program of Harvard, including parents of past or present Harvard students.
In addition to fulfilling the critical role of interviewing approximately 1000 student applicants each year for Harvard College, the Club hosts a wide variety of programs and events approximately once a month throughout the year. Annual events include our joint telecast of the Harvard-Yale football game with the Yale Club, our Annual Meeting and Picnic, and our Holiday party, and other events and programs range from presentations by visiting Harvard faculty to exclusive tours to private exhibits and art events to networking events.
The Club funds summer community service fellowships for current Harvard undergraduates. These fellowships support summer community service projects in the greater Houston area speared headed by current Harvard under graduates.
Your membership fees go to help support our Club, our Schools and Scholarship Committee activities and our programs and administrative expenses. Membership is easy - to renew your Club Membership or become a new Club Member, just click the "JOIN" or "RENEW" link under the Membership tab on the menu bar.
Annual Membership fees do a world of good for our community and our Club; moreover, you will join a growing community of alumni and benefit from discounted rates for all of our events. For the most loyal and enthusiastic supporters of the Harvard University Club of Houston, we ask that you or your company become a Supporting Member as a Platinum, Sponsor, Patron or Benefactor level member (to view list of current Supporting Memberships, click on the "Supporting Members/Sponsors" link under the Get Involved tab) by donating $250 or more, which entitles you or your company to additional benefits.
In addition, the Club is a Member of the HAA Global Pass Program which allows members to attend events at Harvard Clubs all around the world. Just sign on to http://www.clubsandsigs.harvard.edu/article.html?aid=109 for more information. The link leads directly to the Global Pass page on the Post.Harvard and the most up-to-date list of Participating Clubs.
We would love to have you work alongside us on our goals of serving Harvard, holding interesting events for the Harvard Community in the Greater Houston Area and expanding our community outreach activities. We are proud to be part of this community, and we look forward to having you join us.
Sincerely,
Esther Olivarez
