Join us for a Night at the Opera! Have you always wanted to go to the opera, but didn't know which show to attend or who to go with? Or, do you already love opera, but haven't gone yet this season? Wharton, and our alumni friends from Stanford and Harvard, will head out for a night at the Houston Grand Opera to see the much anticipated Barber of Seville on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and we want you to join us!
Have you heard the famous "Figaro" song? Yes, this is THAT opera!
Curtains go up at 7:30pm - (you are also welcome to attend at 6:30pm for the popular pre-show talk!).
We all love culture, and Houston is one of the best cultural centers in Texas and across the South. The Houston Grand Opera (HGO) is commonly considered one of the Top 3 opera companies in the US, and even makes the Top 10 list globally! HGO singers and production design routinely share a stage with the famous La Scala, Sydney, and Metropolitan Opera Houses. Join us for a bit of sparkle, glamour, and culture on April 30!
Harvard, Stanford and Wharton alums and Friends are eligible for Discounted Orchestra Circle tickets for the April 30 Barber of Seville, at a price of $126.75 per ticket. These are some of the best seats in the house, and they normally cost $164 ($156.50 + $7.50 admin purchase fee). We only have a limited number of discounted tickets, so call in and get yours today! Our group will be seated together.

- You will enjoy an Exclusive Reception During Intermission
- Dress Code: Business Casual (No need for tuxes or gowns, but a welcome reason to dress up!)
- Ticket Cost: $126.75
- Get Your Ticket by Calling the Group Sales Coordinator, Nicholas Chavez, at 713-228-6737 or 713-980-8676 between 9:30am-5:30pm, Mon-Fri, and be sure to mention that you're with the Harvard Club for the discounted tickets and to be seated together. Tickets are purchased via credit card over the phone - this is the easiest way for Club members and HGO to process the tickets appropriately and ensure that we can all be seated together.

- Opera is WONDERFUL for families, but we don't really recommend a full-length show for children under 10. 10 & up are usually fine, but under 10 may be a little challenging!
