The world is a fundamentally different place post-the 2008 Financial Collapse ("Collapse") and some markets, including oil, no longer respond as they did before.  This is a function of even more massive debt than prior to the Collapse, and monetary policies that have sustained artificially low interest rates for six years.  Cheap money has fostered the expansion of oil and other commodity supplies beyond the weakened global economy's capacity to absorb them.

 

Of course, oil will rebound over time; but what will be the "new normal?"

 

We invite you to join us for an evening of cocktails, heavy hors d'oeuvres and lots of networking!  Join us in the main dining room at River Oaks Country Club on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for a networking event and panel discussion on the state of the oil and gas industry today.  Participate in lively discussions with leading experts in the field of energy on what the plunge in the oil price since the summer of 2014 has meant for the industry, consumers and producers facilitated by the Harvard University Club of Houston and Dentons US LLP.


Please note that advance regisistration is required, and there will be no walk-ins accepted.  This special event is open to Harvard alumni and their guests who are interested in discussing the state of the oil and gas industry!  Invited guests must have an interest and background in the oil and gas industry.  There is NO CHARGE to attend but you must have a Harvard affiliation.  Space is limited to the first 50 registrants, then a wait-list will begin.  For questions or assistance registerings, contact HClubHouston@att.net for immediate assistance.
