Judy and Bob Allen have graciously offered to host our discussion group at their beautiful River Oaks home, located at 3834 Inwood Drive in Houston. This learning program is designed to give us, as alumni, a taste of curated HarvardX content, including faculty conversations and we'll explore a wide range of topics, from neuroscience to poetry and Einstein (on April 29th) to ancient Greece and China and computer science, all with celebrated faculty! And, there is no cost for alumni to participate in HAA1x! Our time together at the Discussion Group will allow us to connect in person for discussion, conversation, questioning and collaborative learning. - like being back at Harvard!

REGISTRATION
There are two steps to the registration process. First, you should register at the link above for the April 29th reception / discussion group featuring Harvardx Einstein Revolution at the home of Judy and Bob Allen. The ticket price for the Discussion Group at the Allen residence is $15 per person, FREE for all Harvard University Supporting Level Members (Platinum, Sponsor, Patron, Benefactor), and includes the reception and admission to the Harvardx Einstein Revolution discussion group. Please register by Friday, April 25th.

While you register with us for the Einstein Revolution reception at the Allen residence above, you will also need to register for HAA1x in order to be able to view classes, receive updates about each course, and to view/participate in the online discussion forum. BIOGRAPHY (Thomas C. Killian)
Thomas C. Killian received a BA in Physics in 1991 from Harvard University, and then attended Cambridge University on a Marshall Scholarship, where he earned an MPhil in physical chemistry in 1993. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he completed his PhD in atomic physics in 1999. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, he joined the Physics and Astronomy faculty at William Marsh Rice University in 2001. He works on ultracold plasmas, which teach us about extreme environments like the interior of Jupiter and plasmas created with intense lasers for fusion-energy applications, and also studies Bose-Einstein condensates of atomic gases, which are the coldest things known in the universe. He is also a co-founder of biotech startup n3d Biosciences, Inc. (www.n3dbio.com). In 2010, Dr. Killian was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and in 2012, he became Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rice.
