Our friends at the Asia Society have invited Harvard Club members to join Suzanne DiMaggio at the Asia Sociey at 6 p.m. on October 9th as she discusses the important steps the US should take to help transition Myanmar into a new era.
Suzanne DiMaggio’s recent report (co-authored with Priscilla Clapp), Advancing Myanmar's Transition: A Way Forward for U.S. Policy, outlines the nature of the changes that are underway in Myanmar and the challenges and vulnerabilities the country faces. DiMaggio and Clapp recommend key measures that the United States can undertake at this critical moment to encourage, support, and advance the institutionalization of sustainable democracy in Myanmar.

About Suzanne DiMaggio
Suzanne DiMaggio is the Vice President of Global Policy Programs at Asia Society, where she oversees task forces, working groups, and Track II initiatives aimed at promoting effective policy responses to the most critical challenges facing the United States and Asia. She is currently leading projects focused on U.S.-Iran relations, Burma/Myanmar, regional security in South Asia, and sustainability issues in Asia, including food and water security.
Prior to joining Asia Society in 2007, she was the Vice President of Policy Programs at the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA), where she directed programs aimed at advancing multilateral approaches to global problem-solving and encouraging constructive U.S. international engagement. She has authored a chapter on U.S.-Iran track II diplomacy in The Iran Primer: Power, Politics and U.S. Policy, a new publication from the US Institute of Peace.
