Robert Mowry on Ceramics in Korea and China, the Rockefellers, and Treasures of Asian Art

Distinguished art historian Robert Mowry to speak on one of the finest collections of Asian art in the country on June 16, 2012. The Limited Seating opportunity generously offered by The Asia Society is now closed but you may order tickets directly through the Asia Society at their website. An expert on Chinese and Korean art, Mowry is the Alan J. Dworsky Curator
of Chinese Art and Head of the Department of Asian Art at the Arthur M. Sackler
Museum at Harvard University. Significantly, he was also the first curator of
the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection of Asian art and in 1981
organized the inaugural installation of the collection at Asia Society New
York. Treasures
of Asian Art, on view in the Texas Center’s Louisa Stude Sarofim
Gallery through September 16, 2012, comprises 60 of the finest pieces from the
Rockefeller Collection.
