Houston Arboretum & Nature Center - Volunteer Project
Community Service Initiative
Dear fellow Harvard Alumns,
Only a few hours of your time can make a big
difference! Join the HBS Club of
Houston on Saturday morning, August 13 for a community service initiative at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. This is a conservation project to remove privet (Ligustrum sinense), an invasive, non-native shrub that can easily out-compete native plants for sunlight, water, and nutrients in the understory of the forest. Invasive plant removal helps to improve the diversity of plants as habitat for wildlife. Work will include use of hand saws and pruning loppers.
