Be an Interviewer
Interviewing Harvard applicants is an important annual function of the Harvard University Club of Houston. Our area includes Houston and its surrounding cities within a 100 mile radius, including Beaumont and College Station. Harvard attempts to interview nearly every applicant and interview reports are critical components in each applicant’s file.
Harvard relies on its alumni/ae to conduct most interviews. Anyone who has attended Harvard and Radcliffe College, the Extension school or any of the Harvard graduate schools is qualified to be an interviewer. You are not required to be a member of the Harvard University Club to participate.
Interviews typically last about an hour and reports are submitted online. Most interviewers conduct four or more interviews between mid-November and late January (our peak month) and have been participating for several years. They find it very rewarding and invigorating to sit down, one-on-one, with a promising young student to discuss his or her academic pursuits, talents and aspirations. Conducting interviews gives alumni/ae the rare opportunity to give back to Harvard by being an ambassador for the College and helping to shape the classes of the future.
