Be an Interviewer

Interviewing Harvard applicants is an important annual function of the Harvard University Club of Houston.  Our area includes Houston and its surrounding cities within a 100 mile radius, including Beaumont and College Station.  Harvard attempts to interview nearly every applicant and interview reports are critical components in each applicant’s file.

Harvard relies on its alumni/ae to conduct most interviews.  Anyone who has attended Harvard and Radcliffe College, or any of the Harvard graduate schools is qualified to be an interviewer.  You are not required to be a member of the Harvard University Club to participate.

Interviews typically last about an hour and reports are submitted online.  Most interviewers conduct four or more interviews between mid-November and late January (our peak month) and have been participating for several years.  They find it very rewarding and invigorating to sit down, one-on-one, with a promising young student to discuss his or her academic pursuits, talents and aspirations.  Conducting interviews gives alumni/ae the rare opportunity to give back to Harvard by being an ambassador for the College and helping to shape the classes of the future.
